The Switch Up : A White House Physician Turned Texas Representative

December 28, 2021

"I was in the White House for 14 years on active duty as the White House physician. I know what it takes to do that job. I can tell you quite honestly, Joe Biden is not up for that."

- Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX)

After an outstanding tenure overseas as an active-duty service member in the U.S. Navy, Rep. Jackson was called back to the states to serve in the White House Medical Unit during President George W. Bush’s Administration. From there, Dr. Jackson would ultimately lead the White House Medical Unit as Physician to the President during the Obama and Trump Administrations.

In January 2019, President Donald J. Trump appointed him as Chief Medical Advisor and Assistant to the President.
